“Reactionary is just a made-up word to justify lumping in non-MLs with fascists”

What the hell even is that word? Does that mean that you react to something? Because everyone does.

I’m seeing the word thrown around lately and it’s one of the dumber reductionist labels I’ve seen in my lifetime.

did you get banned from Google or something? It’s a common word in political science dating back to the French revolution, not some weird new invention.

I can’t tell if everyone itt is being sarcastic or smth

Could it be that people are opposed to secret police regardless of the colors on their flag? No, it must be a western psy-op.

The funny thing is that nothing shields you from a bad outcome. In the 50s, Czech Communist Party’s “capital punishment recommendation guy” himself got executed.

“Counterrevolutionary” is a word devised in order to avoid saying “rules for thee by not for me”.

Well, it certainly can be if we’re calling nonsense like the USSR and China “communist,” which is apparently what we’ve been doing for 70+ years. Those regimes are authoritarian, and they’re labeled “communist,” so by the “words mean whatever the common use is” metric, communism absolutely can be authoritarian.

Lol, the first time I’ve ever been screencapped. A guy can’t repost a factoid he read once and accepted non-critically without getting implicitly called a tankie around here.

Wait — this is amazing. You caught them saying something dumb, but redacted their name. But then they came to your post to out themselves entirely and complain to you, except their explanation is that they’re not a tankie as such, only a complete fool.

        I need a minute.

I remember the thread as it happened and only saw this now come up in my local feed: The person in question immediately edited their post with a correction, left the statement up for the correction to have meaning, and publicly thanked the person who corrected them.

The way that thread stands is a learning moment.

This, unfortunately, truncates all that out and just leaves the bad take uncorrected.

…which eliminates the amicable resolution and any understanding that was ultimately achieved from the interaction.
