I’m still unsure if this place is a good fit for sharing music at a relatively fast rate. I really didn’t like when the original andro community was taking over the local feed. It’s not so bad now, since lemmy has grown exponentially, but the posts from the original community were at least diverse in content.

Here for the music community, everyone’s feed would be clogged with music they may, or may not like. Even if you did like it all, it still sucks seeking local filled with content from only one community/user, so I’m going to give this other place a shot.

I’ve never had a twitter, or similar socials, but it seems like a good fit for this type of content. The original [email protected] community will stay here, but you can find where I’m posting music I find at @soundsforthevoid. Firefish is federated, so if you have mastodon, or similar accounts, you can follow me there.

Sorry to disappoint you if you liked what I was sharing here, but I figured I’d act early, so the community didn’t grow any larger and affect more people. If it doesn’t work out over there, I’ll be back here and tell you!

    Dang, I did like your community here specifically for music. It’s all good though. Have a good one wherever you rocket off to.

    I’ll try those links when I get the hankering, I’m not a tweeter myself.

      I’ll ask you, since you’ve been here from the beginning: If the format of posting changed where genres were hashtags (#genre), would that bother you? I always wanted to do both, but I worry about clogging the feed. It would be significantly easier if I can just copy/paste though.

      What are your thoughts on me clogging up the feed for local as well? There were some complaints about initially. Which kind of made me retreat/ask people to block the community. Do you care if it dominates your subscription feed too, if I’m posting a ton?

        Oh and I’m totally fine with genres as hashtags, that doesn’t sound like it would impact my experience.

        Posting often doesn’t really bother me,. I’m usually on All or subscribed, on all, there’s not really a clog and if I’m on subscribed I want there to be a lot of content from those communities.

        I mean, the meme communities are clogging the feeds and I don’t care, and they post far more often then you did.

        And like you say, if it’s bothering them on local, it’s a pretty simple matter to block a community.

                Woo, very exciting opening to the evening, thanks. I don’t get into a lot of American hard metal, but put in another language or add some progressive elements to it and I am down to clown.
