Bigscreen announced that Beyond, its slim form factor PC VR headset, is finally getting its long-awaited Audio Strap starting next month.

Bigscreen Beyond initially shipped in late 2023 with promises that an audio headstrap was soon to follow, with the company saying last December that shipping was scheduled to start sometime in March 2024.

Unofficially yes, but currently only on AMD cards and requires kernel patches as of this writing.

SteamVR on Linux is still a large issue stopping people to enjoyably play VR games on it. Yes Monado exists but it’s not a drop-in replacement for SteamVR

Really? I have wanted to get myself an AMD card so maybe I should get a beyond. Where did you hear the it is possible to run the beyond on Linux? Could you please send me the link? That would be very helpful.

Woah woah woah there, the original oculus rift is also supported with Monado? Now I’m gonna get Monado running I guess.

(Also have you seen any instructions on nactually using Monado anywhere? I’ve only seen the source code flying around somewhere but not actual usage instructions…)

Try Envision. In general OpenXR games run amazingly through Monado (Vive Pro), but OpenVR games are a hit or miss

Envision is amazing. I would not want to setup Monado any other way.

I’ve read a few times that people get VR to work on Linux with ALVR, I haven’t bothered to try myself.
