Thousands of Californians are set to see their SNAP benefits change after the state secured $10 million in funding for the CalFresh Pilot Project.
The CalFresh Fruit and Vegetables Electronic Benefits Transfer Pilot Project helped low-income Californians find more affordable healthy foods but saw its funding dry up in April, causing the program to end.
Assemblymember Alex Lee, who pushed for $10 million to go toward the abandoned pilot project, has said thousands of Californians are set to benefit.
