Yup, that’s my concern. I added one business that didn’t exist because it’s hard to find and really well run. It’s an emissions place like a block and a half off the main road in a neighborhood, and I really want them to stay in business. They’re honest, fast, and only do emissions (so no conflict of interest with a repair business).

I noticed a number of other businesses in the area don’t exist there, but I live near there and didn’t want to doxx myself. I’ll probably add them once I add some others in the area as well.

Edit: Looks like they probably live in Edmonton and work in Glasgow. A quick search will tell you which part of the world this is.

Silly question, but what does this mean? Just using it or improving the maps/app somehow?

I think you can edit osm data from within organic maps so thats what i was assuming, but the app could probably also use more developers :D

Yup, I’m adding locations that don’t exist in OSM. Honestly, the app is fantastic as-is, but maybe I’ll look into their bug tracker and see what I can do.

Thanks for the nudge! I just added a dozen or so businesses to the area around me. I think this will become a fun hobby, since apparently a lot of my local area is missing.

I’m trying to use Organic Maps more, so I guess it’s on me to improve the OSM data for my local area. It would be nice to get faster updates to OM though, waiting a month or more kinda sucks.

TIL there’s an Edmonton in the London area that the Edmonton in Canada is named after.

Huh. Also, TIL, OP isn’t in either the UK or Canada, and they live about halfway between my friend and my cousin (despite me not knowing about either two cities in OP’s post).
