Exactly. I’m not interested in Altman’s iris-scanning coin, but the article itself is pretty decent.
Lemmy has many anti-crypto ideologues who think that “crypto” is a “scam” across the board.
So, when an actual flagrant scam is exposed, they don’t want to talk about it because it shows how other cryptos aren’t actually a scam (although maybe a bad “investment”). It’s impossible to maintain ideological purity while recognizing any nuance.

I am one of those people that think that there only two use cases for crypto:
- Financial speculation
- Criminal activities; fraud, sanctions busting, international crime gang operationa
I disagree with the way you use the term ideologue. It is reasonable to view crypto as being defined solely by the two abovementioned use cases.

I just mean the post lacks some basic info which would encourage people to follow the link. If someone knows what WorldCoin is and have heard of it being banned then perhaps the title alone seems enough, but image if they don’t.
