Earlier today, at Oakland, CA charging station.
There’s another I’ve seen on a Mustang GT in San Diego that said: Tesla: Never Once
Poor Nikola he deserved better
Meh. He was kind of a dick.
Looks like that sticker was printed on a giant Avery label.

Hard to fake emissions on an EV.
I think the implication is that VW is untrustworthy due to their previous actions.
Don’t worry, they threw a couple engineers under the bus
You mean management, right?
Yea, people make assumptions all the time. But that headline is always a surprise for me.
VW really seemed to want to clean house with that. I’ve an ID.3 1st and honestly it’s possibly the best car I’ve ever owned (and I’ve had VWs, BMW, Alfa, Ford, International Harvester (I’m old) and that EV is really great for the money.
And then plot twist: the car has advanced technology that uses the EV battery to scrape the asphalt and convert it to diesel. After that it burns it at 9 mpg.
Unironically, EVs polluting would spur adoption. Can’t ‘roll coal’ in a Prius.

Exactly, so it wouldn’t pertain to EVs

If you are looking for an ethical car company I’ve got bad news for you
deleted by creator
Weird, because that’s not the point you made.
So you bought from another unethical company?
Oh do tell, which car company is the good one? Lolol
“Just gotta build you own from ethically sourced parts.”
Or some other fantasy.Subaru. They intentionally keep their company small, were the first ones to treat the gay community as a real market segment, and they don’t allow their dealers to pull any of that “market adjustment” crap with their pricing. Their cars are really good, comfortable, and well thought out so it’s easy for home mechanics to do basic maintenance if they need to save a buck, especially since they never require any special, brand/model specific tools. Their safety ratings are also impeccable and I trust them to truly care about the well-being of their customers. Also, as a bonus, from my 2003 Legacy to my 2015 BRZ I actually fit in the cars as a 6’-5” guy which is just awesome that they make shit I can drive.
I hate corporations as much the next guy but if there was ever an example of something as big as a mainstream car company being good they’re absolutely the best without much argument.
Disclosure, I like Subaru’s and I miss my old one (well it was a Saabaru anyway).
But almost every older, non-korean automaker you can think of has left some demons in the WW2 era: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakajima_Aircraft_Company
And even in the modern era they’ve cut some corners, like with the na EJ engine’s cheap headgaskets, where instead of recalling and upgrading to the multi-layer steel ones that should’ve been there in the first place, they made a Subaru additive part of regular maintenance - this additive being, essentially, rebottled stop-leak. Just good enough to get through the warranty period.
If they leave the WW2 demons in the past then that’s fine by me. Others seem perfectly fine doing some incredibly horrific shit.
And look, I know the headgasket thing, which I appreciate you not blowing out of proportion in what I think is the first time ever, was not their greatest shining moment. But I was relatively clear about talking in partially relativistic terms and, for example, GM let people die because they figured lawsuits would be cheaper than recalls in regards to their faulty ignitions. There’s a shitty business decision among a great money good ones and there’s sacrificing people’s lives because it’ll maybe save a buck.
If they do heinous shit in the future I’m not going to defend them, and I won’t defend actions semi-recently taken, but until I hear about how they’re gouging customers, foregoing safety, and releasing a steady stream of garbage with no intention to fix it then I refuse to paint them with the same brush as almost every other major automaker on the planet. They’re not saints but they’re pretty fucking solid in some pretty fucking important ways.
They got any EVs not an SUV? I don’t really like large vehicles. Also can’t really afford anything in the 50k range… or the 36k range…
Not yet. It seems the Solterra is their only EV currently.
Happy Cakeday!
Ok fine but I’m not gonna deal with another leaking head gasket. Loved mine but too many moving parts meant we had to part ways.
The really sad thing about this is that Tesla dings most of these boxes as well.
You’re allowed to like a product but don’t give a corporation points for making you pay for something.
That’s why I steal all my short-term vehicles off dealership lots: ethics.
Now keep an eye out for cops, would ya? smashes window
Tesla ships garbage and tells you to pray they’ll push an update, Musk would expand the company as far as possible and is only not doing that because he is allergic to good decisions, and safety doesn’t matter one sliver of a crumb to them as evidenced by innumerable articles on the subject. I really have no idea how you came to that conclusion unless you marched straight by any shred of nuance or critical thinking, believed the hype, and reduced the arguments down so far as to make them the same as arguing that a cat and a giraffe are the same because they’re both quadrapeds.

Well I’ve yet to see it. As a BRZ owner I did see a lot of community posts when the newest gen came out and the BRZs were MSRP while the GR86s, the Toyota variants, were all jacked up. Sometimes the Toyoto could have an $8k market adjustment slapped on. It’s the same fuckin’ car and, honestly, the BRZ is nearly always the higher quality vehicle yet Subaru dealerships don’t mess with that shit.

Are you talking about the very first year, maybe it went a year and a half I can’t remember, of engines that was then fixed so my 2015 simply just isn’t at risk of that recall needing to be done? That issue? I sure hope it’s not that issue because that’d be a really pathetic clapback.

Lololol Subaru and ethical? Japanese company. Case closed.
What’s wrong with Japanese companies? I’m out of the loop.
Or, was that just casual racism?
I wanna hear what they have to say about GM, one of the famously awful ones, and awful in very recent history. They’re either racist or stupid and that would probably tell the story.
You could have probably eliminated the word car and been just about as accurate sadly.
Polestar is under pretty good leadership, as with a couple other small manufacturers
It’s owned by Volvo, who’s pretty much owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. who is linked to forced Uyghur labor like VW is
https://www.saveuighur.org/83-companies-linked-to-uighur-forced-labor/
I agree almost anything is better than giving Elon money, but make no mistake, the auto industry is one massive global capitalistic racket, which will do anything to get ahead

They’re all bad, but I don’t see how it’s relevant here.
Tesla is also connected to Uighur forced labour. The entire auto industry is. It’s impossible to choose any car based on that.
VW stopped supporting Nazis 80 years ago, Elton still does
Elton John?
Ehh, pretty weak, 2/10. I’ll be putting “needs improvement” in the comment box of your report card this term.
