This royally sucks for me. I like having my own local library integrated with Tidal.

Not as easy to get everything as it is with TV/Movies, unfortunately. That’s the whole reason I jumped onto Tidal in the first place. It offered a far better service. Now it’s going away. I will definitely be voting with my wallet and letting them know why I’m cancelling though.

I have about 1600 albums that I started buying in the late 70s. Spotify has about 70% of my albums. I’ve been able to create a digital backup of all my vinyl and cds.

I haven’t used lidarr much, but do have other arrs in my stack.

Looks like it will search for new stuff by artists I like, but does it have a recommendation feature? Thats the main reason I was paying for tidal in the first place. If lidarr does that, there’s no need to look any further

Ouch, I remember when this was integration was announced a few years ago.

Glad I stuck with a locally managed library, however this must suck for those who have gotten used to the convenience of having one big music library…

Tidal on AA crashes. The UI is generally garbage too. And I assume that when the integration goes away, so does the ability to use plexamp, even if selecting tidal as the library rather than my own that has tidal integrated. I’m not paying for something that not only doesn’t work the way that I want it to, but doesn’t work at all. Plexamp and local integration is the ONLY reason I even bother with Tidal in the first place. Bye Bye.

Yeah, this is a disaster for me too. Weird that in my email, the cut off date says October 28, 2024

The cut-off date for the integration is October, while Tidal subscriptions taken out via Plex will stop getting renewed in September.

Edit: Comparing mine and OP’s emails I’m guessing it was a different template depending on whether you subscribed via Plex or directly through Tidal. The 26th is probably OP’s renewal date.

And here I was holding out hope that the integration would yet improve. Although the fact that I couldn’t find the Pass + Tidal option for a recommendation a couple of months ago should have been a raging clue.

It was never perfect but was it ever handy in bringing together my 20+ year collection of non-commercial netlabel stuff, bootlegs, mashups and mixtapes that’ll never appear in public streaming and the more mainstream stuff in one place. Kept me discovering new shit all the time and got the family used to and using Plexamp thanks to the Tidal offering. Switching away from the horrible Spotify.

    What now?

Before I discovered tidal integration with Plex, I liked slacker (now live one). Maybe I’ll move back to that or pandora. Slacker is nice that you can build a radio station based on multiple artists or albums.
