I just bought a second-hand surface duo running android for the sole purpose of emulating nintendo ds. I want a stylus to emulate that part of the experience, but all styluses are a lot more expensive than i anticipated. But they seem to include stuff i really dont need such as bluetooth connectivity and such like.

Can i just get any pointy plastic thing to use as a stylus or do i need one of these that connect to the phone?

If you’re just needing a stylus for normal touch-input, then any passive stylus should work fine. However, if you also want it for handwriting features or anything beyond basic touch-input, then you’ll need one of the Surface Pens as they’re the only styluses compatible with the Surface Duo. The standard Surface Pen, the new Slim one, and even the big Hub 2 Pen all work, and they can usually be found on eBay for around $35.

Thanks! Cant really find any passive ones for sale in my country and ordering online from amazon or ebay becomes quite expensive with shipping and taxes. I found a used surface pen on a local online market so I made a request for that. Thanks for letting me know about those, this stylus stuff is confusing…

I would think a simple passive stylus for capacitive touch screens would work fine.
