Explanation: I’m the only person who runs D&D in my friends groups, so I get to play in other games under other Game Masters, but have a LOT of D&D character ideas I will never get to try.
I do the opposite. I will run any game EXCEPT D&D. This gets people to try new games, and if they really wanna do D&D they can do it themselves, learn how to DM and run a group, and then I get to play. It’s been a pretty flawless strategy for me overall

Technically yes, but it’s not the same.
fabula ultima is pretty fucking nice for building my weirder character concepts
