The senator hit members of his own party for categorizing Trump as a "felon," arguing Democrats are supposed to be a people who believe in redemption.

Just switch parties already, for Christ’s sake.

        It was a few days before he was elected, and he had an operation on election day. So if he did change there wasn’t enough time for anyone to know it.
