My kids (8 and 5) prefer to play on my PC instead of their Xbox. They claim being closer to the screen allows them to see what’s going on in the game much better.

I was semi recently explaining to someone that monitors are basically small TV’s, with more variety in sizes, form factors, and refresh rates.

Yeah, it’s great that today it’s all interchangeable. There’s just so many ways to play games and so many different setups. It was much more limited when computer hardware and tv setups where so different back in the day.

That doesn’t sound good for the eyes.

Sometimes I have to remind myself to hold my phone further away from my face, or lean back in my chair if I’m getting too sucked in.

If anything trying to make out fine detail on a TV screen that is far away sounds bad for the eyes, not having the screen as close as a regular PC screen.
