    @[email protected] I don’t think our goal is just to make money. I do think that having a financially viable Fediverse is important; it’s one of our goals. But that can mean a lot of different things: coops, non-profits, grants, or companies.

    But the money is a means to an end: having positive, independent social networking software and services.

      @[email protected] I just hope there’s no major financial influence from the major companies involved like Meta.

      I don’t want to lose control of my own site because I am not a programmer. I have a bit of control with Mastodon right now. However, there are some gripes everyone has had like lack of moderation features.

      I worry a financial influence to change certain things will lessen my control and I’d have to find another software.

      My worries always come from a place of passion and concern.
