Social Media fool on multiple platforms. I tend to talk about #Fediverse :fediverse: and it’s nuances. Also post #AIart using #Midjourney from time to time. I am your typical hippie and :weed: smoker. Follow me for a variety of topics like #gaming; comments and opinions on tech news; World news opinions; occasional self-loathing and #depression messages. VERY #ADHD. Sometimes my thoughts aren’t organized. If this isn’t your thing, just keep moving, or block, I really don’t care :) #fedi22 tfr
Well, immediately I noticed that once I got a notification, if I tried opening the notification tab on the bottom, the app crashes.
I can no longer open it.😬
@[email protected] that seems like it’ll be normal going forward. A lot of newer apps use things in the new versions that have better optimization.🤷♂️😬
@[email protected] :lul: :pog:
Good point…but a bit of both tbh. It’s quite different here lately.😔
@[email protected] I just hope there’s no major financial influence from the major companies involved like Meta.
I don’t want to lose control of my own site because I am not a programmer. I have a bit of control with Mastodon right now. However, there are some gripes everyone has had like lack of moderation features.
I worry a financial influence to change certain things will lessen my control and I’d have to find another software.
My worries always come from a place of passion and concern.
Thanks for your response. I appreciate you.
@[email protected] I’m on iOS version of Firefox and it just loops back on itself to the homepage from my end.
@[email protected] I’m still digging my heels into it right now. From the surface it seems very suspicious and financially motivated centralization of a decentralized platform, which is not good.
However, there may be some underlying bright side.
I’ll have to get back to you with my full thoughts once I wrap my head around it all.
@[email protected] maybe. However, I never hear that about AP. Only mastodon specifically and that’s because mastodon not complying with most of AP standard…😳
And people wonder why I don’t post here that much anymore.
It’s not the same as it was just a few short months ago.
Mastodon has taken over and they refuse to do anything about major issues here.
They’re set to make a ton of money from this, all while their 20,000+ instance admins don’t even have basic automated reporting or useful moderation tools.
You wanna know why harassment is rampant on Fediverse? Cause moderators have to have eyes on the post themselves to moderate it.
If you don’t report it, it doesn’t get moderated.🤦♂️
Ugh!😩
@WonkeyFX I don’t see those because I don’t have an actual meta account, I just browse the word “Fediverse” through threads public search, but that is quite disappointing…🤦♂️
@[email protected] good question, not sure.
I’m not one of those people.
I just know most people here do that…so yeah…🤷♂️
@[email protected] thanks. Strange that it just started happening for me recently. Its quite annoying.
There’s no upvotes on Mastodon so it does no good to lie for clout. It seems to be a problem there…🤦♂️
@[email protected] awesome. Sounds great.
I’ll be looking out!👍
@[email protected] I’m on my own instance and they cannot track me through fediverse. stop spreading misinformation in my post, thanks.
@[email protected] They don’t get any data that other instances don’t…? I don’t get your point…
@[email protected] @[email protected] it should send delete requests to every instance that it was sent to. It should know that because my server has to actually send the post. Maybe I’m misunderstanding things but this seems like it should be an easy thing to do.
@tom 🤷♂️I received the reply like nothing was wrong. Except the reply doesn’t look like a reply on my end.

I deleted the post that this is replying to.
You won’t find it on my instance. Yet, there it is.
Not sure what it is, but it doesn’t feel good.
@[email protected] that IS how you murder someone. He also seems American.
@[email protected] I hope he doesn’t see this. He might find out where you live and come murder you.
Good luck.
@[email protected] so, it’s very vague, but it’s basically a foundation that’s supposed to be the official “decision makers” on AP, the protocol that runs the Fediverse.
The worrying thing, is that their board of advisors are big companies like Meta and Automattic, who both have massive financial incentives to change things for their benefit.
