Capitalism is a fucking shit show, but tankies legit confuse the hell out of me. I’d compare them to flat earthers where my first reaction is, “that’s sort of funny, but those people don’t actually exist, do they?”
It’s part LARP, part psyop, part finding belonging in tribalism.
So much scorn towards redditors and right-wingers (for a reason of course), BUT they still act like r/politicalcompassmemes and the_donald, qanonists etc. in a meta role.

I can tell you Hexbear is full of people enshrining China as the perfect country (they deny the Uyghur genocide but embrace its dictatorship as ideal) and calling everyone not from Hexbear a “shitlib” regardless of their political views.

One of the top posts on lemmy.ml got absolutely brigaded by Hexbear users, proving exactly why lemmy.world saw it fit to defederate from them. So much rampant stupidity in that thread. Hexbear users are not on this site to discuss anything in good faith, they are here to brigade and harass.
