I recently discovered Sabine Hossenfelder (I’m not a science guy and dont claim to be) so I’m curious as to why you think she is bad or uncredible? I just want to know if I’m being misinformed by watching her channel

I can’t speak to the accuracy of her physics videos but she’s made a few videos about topics she clearly isn’t an expert on and don’t relate at all to her field. The two I can think of are an Anti-Trans Video and a wierdly blatantly pro- capitalism video both poorly researched.

Yeah, she’s going the Neil Degrasse Tyson route of, “Some people respect my opinion on one thing, so I must know about all the things.”

I wouldn’t say she’s bad or non-credible. Her viewpoint is in a minority but is legit. I just guessed it was her because she keeps harping on the same points and I’m like, ok, we get it. She wrote a book saying the same thing too. Maybe it’s worth reading, idk Some perfectly good physics is inherently not falsifiable though, like general relativity’s predictions about black hole interiors. So she is a bit too hung up on that issue.

Sabine is a very competent physicist. That’s why her viewpoint - right or wrong - is well worth hearing. The fact that the Nobel went to a computer scientist instead says a lot about the state-of-the-art.

Sabine knows her shit. May she coax some physicists into getting back into experimenting… and away from Big Science funding.
