For decades, North Korea’s formal stated goal was a communist reunification of the peninsula. Now it’s reclassified South Korea as a “hostile state” at the earlier recommendation of Kim Jong Un.

North Korean state news agency KCNA on Thursday reported for the first time that the country had revised its constitution to define South Korea as a “hostile state.”

The change took place last week at a meeting of the country’s rubber-stamp legislature. It follows a proposal from Kim Jong Un in January, but past propaganda on revisions to the constitution had offered few details.

They’ve been upgraded from “Separatist occupied territory” to “hostile state”, recognising them as a sovereign nation-state with all the geopolitical implications that carries.

I think they’re just generally signaling stronger alignment with Russia and China and rejecting reunification.

Yes, imperialism is hostile. It murdered millions of koreans and created the current division. It’s not just some smarmy joke.

The joke is north Korea, and the millions of Koreas were murdered by the incompetence of their hereditary monarchs.

It’s like watching someone who chooses to live in a pile of shit curse someone who chose modern hygiene, except more funny than sad.

Their leaders would never let them advance, or have any freedoms at all, they’d rather keep them in hell while they live in comfort than dare losing an ounce of control even if the lives of their subjects improved immeasurably.

And the comment I just made is the most serious attention we need to give the pathetic fucks, until they somehow finally decide to join the rest of the world.
