Monolithic Kernel

Why the hell, in the year 2024, are we still pushing monolithic kernels! The people deserve microkernels already

No well defined driver abi

Drivers running kernel space, no standard interface, they’re not very portable. It’s a mess

Systemd

What happened to kiss? This is like the polar opposite of kiss. It’s like making emacs foundational to your entire operating system. It’s basically its own operating system. It’s troublesome

GNU is not (Lin)Ux

Enough said

Add that it’s made by and for criminals to the top of the list. It’s whole purpose of existing is shady and evil. They literally built the dark web criminal network. Stop painting them as innocent people, they’re evil criminals who must be stopped.

That’s factually incorrect, Linux was a toy project that was a reimplementation of minix a teach tool operating system designed around POSIX.

Linux is a primary tool for criminals to hide their illegal work. It’s what the dark web is built on, and what its most prolific merchants use. Linux has no legitimate merit, it should be banned or heavily regulated. People who talk about Linux sucking never seem to address these problems, this is what you should be addressing first guys. It’s way worse than buggy and complicated, it’s criminal.

          Correlation is not causation.

Every mass murder drinks water, but not everyone who drinks water is a mass murderer.

Bad analogy. Water isn’t designed and built for criminal applications. The dark web, it’s infrastructure, and the Linux it runs on absolutely is.

Linux runs the web. All of it. Dark and light. Turn off all the Linux machines, and everyone goes offline. Not a joke.

Heck, your air conditioner, your car, your phone (Linux/bsd).

Every Intel processor runs Linux in the ime since 2014? So even windows machines run Linux

Your angry with the concept of a operating system. That’s like being mad that math exists

I didn’t know that a 1977 ford pickup truck ran linux, how is that even possible when when this truck doesn’t even have an onboard computer. Don’t try and tell me you know my truck better than I know it, I’ve rebuilt the engine twice. There is no computer chips in this truck, except for the tape deck, which is aftermarket but still way to old to really be considered a computer.

Well, I do like the systemd. But I have my own list of things. Recent three updates broke - graphic drivers, sound drivers and fingerprint support. If you don’t have much free time, using linux as a daily driver is a huge waste of time.

It might be time for a functional language with proper borrow checking to write the kernel in
