Please leave my aldis toquitos alone microorganisms.
Whiskey
Rum or gin work too
If I’m understanding what you want to hear, you should totally just buy Aldi’s taquitos. Maybe a drink if you’re feeling fancy.
Dried legumes, rice. Maybe canned veggies? Honestly just boil/bake your food for now and don’t eat prepacked “fresh meals”.
dry beans
And make sure you eat them raw they’re a lot safer that way
Anything not processed. Processed food includes cut fruit and mixed greens.
I’d be careful with cut fruit, that in itself can be a huge vector, depending on the cleanliness of the utensils, hygene of the employee, and age and cleanliness of the fruit itself. The safest is skinned fruits that can be washed.
Unfortunately, stuff like salmonella can affect a broad spectrum of foods, from unprocessed to dry goods like cereals. Reporting health violations and diseases you get from food should be immediately tested for at the doctor and then reported to the CDC.
Our food safety standards could be much more stringent if we wanted them to be.
That’s what I was saying. Every interaction increases the risk of contamination. Cut fruit is vulnerable to dirty machines which is a big factor in listeria contamination.
Oh, sorry, I misread.
You phrased it backwards.
Listeria outbreak trackers all show MILLIONS of pounds of meat that’s being recalled while thousands of pounds of plant based foods, where did you find that cut fruit is dangerous?
Here’s the first one I found by searching. There were several more. And the recall in the news right now is for frozen waffles, which contain no meat. I never said cut fruit was dangerous. I said it is more likely to be contaminated than uncut fruit.
meat alternatives, like impossible beef and chicken patties.
Not sure why the down votes, those didn’t get recalled, so you’re right. That would be an acceptable food to get instead.
Before I edited the comment, it said vegan meat alternatives, without stipulating impossible beef, so I thought maybe the vegan part triggered people? Though I still got downvotes even after. Ah well 🤷♂️
I’m wondering if some others may be downvoting because a lot of non-meat products have also been recalled…waffles, fruit products, etc. Those don’t have meat in them so you’re not necessarily safe by avoiding meat.
It’s probably a safe bet though if only because the machines and training are much fresher.
Grain can definitely be a vector. So anything grain-based that people might be prone to undercook could be suspect. Unless they are pasteurized or something before packaging. No idea if that’s the case or not with meat substitutes.
Are you just eating these toquitos without reheating them? If you reheat them properly (high enough temp), then you’ll be fine. The big issue is ready to eat items.
Piemientos de Padrón, Jamón, un Mollete… basically, buy from a non-American grocery store where there are actually food safety laws.
20 million pound of meat recalled and a few thousand pound of drinks and mushrooms recalled. Oh what should I avoid.
