I think this is an evolution of my art style. I’m particularly proud of how it turned out and the technique to make it.

Thank you for your kind words! Here are some examples.

    Where it started:

The first one I really liked:

A recent one on the path to this style:

I like all of them, and it is very cool to see the progress.

are you working towards something in particular or improving as a result of drawing for fun?

Mostly for fun. I’ve been toying with the idea of making a video game but that probably won’t happen until I retire 😂

          ha, nice.

that’s fine, drawing for its own sake is a worthy endeavor.

My mom does that. She makes some amazing watercolors and only a few people ever see em.

Though I do talk on stage and my stories have been well received overall so someday I imagine the two will cross paths. But my art confidence is way behind my story telling and public speaking confidence. It’s easier to spin a picture in a person’s mind with words than with art it seems.

yeah, I get what you’re saying.

I think the stronger the art style is, the stronger the connection with the audience becomes, even if the methodology isn’t technically unimpeachable, but even for webcomics that got popular with messier artwork, having a couple words in a thought bubble sets the context for the audience to connect with the yard itself in a way that’s much more convenient and accessible.

Totally agreed, and being able to boil down a story to just four frames and capture the essence and emotion is such a talent. I love artists that are capable of that and aspire to be cool like them one day.
