What a goddamn joke. The foxes are fully in charge of the hen house.
Time to see if Americans truly believe in conscientious objections or not.
I don’t think consciousness objections will be enough anymore. I’m not sure we will ever see a peaceful exchange of power in this country again. Stochastic terrorism has been on the rise, and I don’t see it getting any better.
I Just moved and am still looking for employment, but I live in a red state.
I’m not scared of someone breaking in and taking… stuff. Stuff can be replaced.
I’m scared of political violence. I’m a fucking American. Freedom of Religion is sacrosanct to me. I’m just not Christian. Neither is my wife, and she has a bigger mouth than me.
One of my first purchases when I’m working again (its been a week, I’m not resting on my laurels) will be a firearm for home defense - Ostensibly, to fend off any dipshit neighbors.
We are well and thoroughly cooked

As someone who’s been following him for some time, I think the article is a little doomerish. His stance on vaccines is troubling, but he’s outlined policies he’d want to see, like capping drug prices and banning pesticides that are banned in europe, before https://www.wsj.com/opinion/trump-can-make-america-healthy-again-rfk-jr-reforms-chronic-disease-crisis-a9b4b8c0
Oh well if he’s in support of a few good things, I can totally look past all his awful opinions! Thanks for opening my eyes.
In every pile a of shit there’s a nugget of gold. Trump gave the people stimulus checks.
Point is his reforms will be generally terrible. He has promised to cut all infectious disease research funding and he only sees chronic disease as if it’s something caused by environmental factors. Don’t get me wrong some are, but many aren’t, and the way he says he’s going to treat chronically ill people and deny them the drugs they need is immensely troubling.
Mhm, his whole disease policy is basically " drugs don’t do anything, just sunshine and clean living". It’s incredibly stupid, and will likely lead to the deaths of thousands if implemented the way he wants to.
Remember Maya Angelou: when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.
Hospitals need to start ignoring the federal government when it’s being stupid, and state governments need to have their back.
Don’t doctors take an oath? Is that worth anything?
That’s a tradition.
In practice they are bound by the laws and regulations set by the government.
First, I think vaccine acceleration policies (of Trump, btw) helped with elimination of covid and eventual reopening of economy, even as Trump tried to make covid worse in blue cities for political attack purposes.
That vaccines can have side effects that the FDA assists in covering up is still a meaningful issue. That Pharma captures the FDA to enhance their oligarchy/profits is an issue that demands a skeptic of Pharma to be in the oversight role. Republicans having an oligarch constraining force is an upside down proposition. This is by far the only such force in a GOP administration, and may get nixed by Republican congress.
Nah, this won’t get nixed. Almost all of the Trump-opponent Senators and Reps are gone or have flipped. The GOP has effective carte blanche to do whatever they wish, and a stacked deck of Supreme Court justices who, now that their jobs are safe from impeachment, will pretty happily rubber stamp anything. Even if they don’t, Trump can simply do it via EO, due to the immunity ruling.
Most GOP senators are well enough funded by Pharma, to support their oligarchy. They will be funded harder during confirmation hearings.
