Because you don’t have the stress of the morning routine. You can take your time and live a little. The anomaly is a forced wake-up time.

I woke up at 830 this morning. Later than usual but habit. I had a smoke, took a shit, then said fuck this it’s Saturday. I slept until almost 1.

I have a desk job, but it is stimulating and I work for my friend, so no mega-corpo that makes money off my back. I know what he pays me, what he pays for social security and what he makes off of my hourly rate.

The problem is the busy work and bullshit office politics.

Right? Even though I make garbage for pay my restaurant job is pretty nice. Keeps me active all day, sharpens my wits, relatively simple, and free food to top it all off.

Obviously if you can make more money doing something else then do it but I’m content with my life right now.

Desk jobs can be nice but depending on the role, they can haunt your waking moments when you leave for vacation and know there are things that need to get done. Almost everyone I know who works this way end up logging in on their free time because of it.
