Could this be a bug or some Larian silliness?
Best of all, it’s a light weapon, so you can dual-wield salamis!

Your wife is a person of taste and refinement!
Also, obvious joke about your wife and two wieners etc.
I’d say it’s pretty much impossible that something like this happens as result of a bug
Actually, for once, it’s a quite good implementation of the 5e ruleset. :)
In the Player Handbook (p.147) :
Improvised Weapons
Sometimes characters don’t have their weapons and have to attack with whatever is at hand. An improvised weapon includes any object you can wield in one or two hands, such as broken glass, a table leg, a frying pan, a wagon wheel, or a dead goblin.
Often, an improvised weapon is similar to an actual weapon and can be treated as such. For example, a table leg is akin to a club. At the DM’s option, a character proficient with a weapon can use a similar object as if it were that weapon and use his or her proficiency bonus.
An object that bears no resemblance to a weapon deals 1d4 damage (the DM assigns a damage type appropriate to the object). If a character uses a ranged weapon to make a melee attack, or throws a melee weapon that does not have the thrown property, it also deals 1d4 damage. An improvised thrown weapon has a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet.
Improvised Weapon is also an ability in the game you can use at any time. If you’re strong enough, you can even use gnomes and goblins as weapons! I killed a skeleton by throwing a rat at it in one of the later dungeons.
My monk is just Jackie Channing his way through combat. Punching, kicking, throwing chairs, swinging tables… I walk into a room and I look at every object in it and devise a way to utilize everything in battle. It’s awesome. 😃
Damn, that sounds really fun! I should definitely make a monk next.
Yeah, probably. Sometimes this kind of thing happens in other games, they classify a prop or item as a weapon. But this seems legit. Funny though.
The description does say it’s hard enough to smack someone…
They introduced this feature in one of the early access updates and made a joke about it in the patch notes or something like that
Obviously not a bug.
Yeah if anything that’s pork.
I found 9ut you could use salami as a weapon when I was doing super little damage in a fight. IDK how they got equipped, but I immediately went and started a new game as a monk specifically to throw boxes and beat people up with deli meats.
I’d also recommend druid since you can cast shillelagh on the salami XD
Not who you were replying to, but I am already a druid and I’m very grateful for this kind of information.
My current staff has a chance to tangle enemies. But this one is a salami. Mine does more damage though. But it’s a salami.
This must work so well with the sneak attack animation :D
I saw a YouTube thumbnail that had bg3 and a pic of this salami. Now I know why.
Just don’t let a rogue get all stealthy with it.
They like to play hide the salami.
Gonna get the game when it comes out on PS5, and I’m so gonna be a deli monk 😁
So that’s why salami shows up if I filter for “equipment” in the inventory!
Larian always include shit like this!
Okay, so I haven’t played D&D since second addition, so maybe things have changed. But is that salami more lethal than a short sword?
They are the best weapons! Watch this video for proof :) (Not my video, algorithm showed it to me, perhaps I’m searching a lot of BG3…) https://youtu.be/Nmal1GmyiKA
