    Sure, and?

Remember when they had a hissy fit about a Supreme Court nomination too close to an election, refused to fill and then decided the opposite was true if trump was in charge?

I think overall there is no pathway to seating kamala and it would just be a waste of time. At the same time, though, what a way to send a message. I think if the democrats understood how deep under water they were it would be the most beautiful death throw.

You’re not being the adult. The adult gets their hands dirty when it’s time to get their hands dirty. Who watches the watchers? The answer isn’t crime fighting vigilantes. It’s other watchers.

Decorum. Rules. Norms. Can and will all be ignored. The Republicans will use every facet of their power and the democrats will pray to the gods of civility that the Republicans stop.

This time is different, though. This time they said they will not freely cede power. I think you will find it makes a big differnce.

Yeah, it signals to every both sider that they were right all along, and all the people they’ve been prosthelytizing to might actually start believing them.

If you want to be on the side of democracy, you don’t just decide to stop being democratic unless you’ve given up.

You’re not going to solve anything by playing by their rules, you’re only going to galvanize them. They are the party of “government doesn’t work”, doing this just gives them more ammo.

The government doesn’t work if one side can break the law and walk away scott free and if the other side does the same exact thing they have consequences. What’s there left to argue at that point?

I’m not understanding what you’re trying to say.

Are you saying the Democrats, after called trump’s use of fake electors a threat to democracy, should try that failed tactic?

And are you saying this for 2024? After the Dems lost the popular vote, every swing state, the Senate and Congress, Dems should try to install Kamala as the 2024 winner?

Or that they should do that in 2028, regardless of the outcome or only if Republicana don’t cede power or?

They would be exposing the hypocrites. They already look look like fucking morons for losing to trump, again, so not much to salvage there. Tell me any American could not miss the message when democrats stop the confirmation, roll out their own fake electors, and confirm kamala herself. Hell, have biden make it an official act because why not? Any person to object to it could not be totally lost on them this is exactly what Trump attempted to do and will not be punished for it.

Now, anyone knows this plan will fall flat. That’s not how these things work. It would just stir the pot so brilliantly it might actually get the little brain cell they are guarding to light up.

The problem is that the democrats are playing the game called “democracy.” The Republicans stopped following the rules of the game because they don’t want to play it anymore. If the Democrats do what the Republicans do, then the game is no longer be played. You can’t really give up on democracy and then bring it back. It rarely ever works that way.

If you cede the ground of democratic norms, rules, and policies just to win, you ultimately lose because you no longer have a democracy. In many respects, getting the Democrats to start doing the same thing is precisely what the Republicans want. Because that means they can finish burying democracy, and they’re better positioned to win the game called “fascism.”

Yeah, but as this election showed, people cant be trusted. Theres no need to try and preserve our “democracy” because our democracy led to this. Instead, democrats just need to take over via any means neccassary.

The board is set. The dems can pretend democracy as usual but it will all be fruitless. Now is the time to peel back any remaining facade of the america we once knew and go toe to toe with the fascist take over. The longer we wait the deeper they will burrow into the heart of this nations government and one morning you’ll just wake up living in a fascist regime.

And it’s the same Republicans who said Supreme Court nominations shouldn’t happen right before an election and also voted in nominations right before an election. Why not? Give em hell. That’s what I say.

Repubs think they are all so crass when they break the rules. They think they’ve outsmarted everyone and really pulled one over on us simpletons.

I know, and you know this too, we are holding back. We have morals so we cant engage. The same faculties that gave us those immutable morals could be used for other purposes though.

Good natured people, in my mind, are brilliant people. They do the hard thing because it’s the right thing. The second they don’t have to do the hard thing anymore because it’s no longer the right thing is like removing a handicap. Think of the most clever, most hard working, and determined people you know. If they don’t vote D I don’t believe you know any.

what do you think the results will be?

They will point to all the laws they ignored and say they apply. When you point out “hey you did the same thing” they will change the subject or ignore you comment. They know they are hypocrits and don’t care. They will do whatever it takes to win including cheat. So again I ask you what do you think will happen? I think the answer is nothing.

    Doesn’t matter.

Democrats will always be held to an unattainably high standard while Republicans are held to literally none.

Trump supporters unironically walked around wearing “I’m voting for the felon” merchandise. They support criminals because they admire criminals, as long as the criminals are on their team.

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds, so they will look you straight in the eye and say a democrat is the anti-christ for attempting a fake electors scheme, despite their guy having done so himself.

None of this matters. Because Americans don’t care. Because Americans aren’t responsible democratic citizens. Which is why we’re experiencing a decline we won’t be crawling out of anytime soon.

Hypocrisy is a virtue if you plan to break the rules. You’re signaling to your allies that you all can do whatever you want.

Any time you come up with some hypothetical involving politicians and hypocrisy, you need to remind yourself of the above.

The thing is, dems can do whatever they want. We elevated them and they are still weak in face of fascism. It’s easy for them, too. They take their time and plan their little scuttle butt knowing there will be no consequence for them. No matter what little scuffle they get into they will go home to their bags of money and high level connections. What would have happened if the democrats put in a pitbull for an AG? The Republicans get upset? They curse their names and say, “you’ll rue the day.” They already do it. They do it when the dems accidently step on a toe. They do it pretending the dems actually did something or stood for anything. The democrats just cower away, afraid to upset the money train and lose their station. It’s a joke. There’s nothing to gain here. They lost, you don’t understand. This was the off ramp. This was the resistance. It’s a sunk cost. You will waste resources going back to this empty well.

I don’t really worry about what Republicans think. What are they going to do, vote more? They already think dems are communist blah blah blah, I don’t think anything dems do is suddenly going to activate an even more outraged GOP base. Everyone else though, they will see the hypocrisy for what it is and you might even get some people’s attention that you didn’t have before.

Bold of you to assume Democrats care about anything other than the good boy points they think they get by sticking to a rulebook that fewer and fewer are abiding by
