Google Chat is rolling out instant voice meetings — similar to Slack’s Huddles — that let you quickly switch to a voice or video call from within a chat.

      Yes, it’s a team chat and much better than Microsoft teams in my opinion.

      But the reason might be that it is just slowly copying slack. The use case I encounter a lot with small companies is that they use the Google workspace Suite, even call via Google meet, but chat with slack for some reason. Google chat is now very similar and completely integrated into the rest of Google workspace. So it seems to be the much better choice to me?

      It has its place. It can allow you to keep up with people that can’t install apps on work PCs or bring their phones in due to security.

      I have a handful of people that I sue Google chat with on a fairly regular basis. One fits the above situation.

      yeah I use it to send images from my personal phone to my work email address and for literally nothing else
