Fourth quadrant is “not-suffering isn’t real.” People who think there’s one eternal hierarchy, and all you can do is venerate your betters, while people below you better watch out. Improvement isn’t possible and anyone who’s trying wants to trick you into suffering more.
I mean as someone who grew up pretty priviledged than lost it all and am now in extreme poverty fighting intermittent homelessness due to a disabling health condition.
I can say, maybe everyone suffers, but the degrees of suffering are so different that what a privileged person considers suffering wouldn’t even be a minor issue to those who suffer most.
People in that quadrant would say, you have to be miserable, or it would ruin their lives… somehow. Like human comfort is zero-sum. In fact, the worse it gets for you, the better-off they must be… somehow.
