the ascension changes actually gave ascension some meaning which was great, but it could still be improved and spiced up more. one thing i saw in another game was that during ascension, you forget the layout of the floors, this would be a nice change IMO.
I think forgetting the layout might be a bit too hard and easily cheesed by taking a screenshot, but I agree that the Ascension can be made harder
It’s really easy to do even with no PoH because of the healing you get on boss floors.
Maybe re-roll the floors entirely.
or have floors with randomly collapsed sections
That’s an interesting idea. Since the levels are each a big loop, you could collapse one side of them randomly while also forgetting the layout.
I’m not sure how well the idea would work while still preserving the exploration scoring category.
