    Cat chooses you.

One time, I was putting in my window air conditioner on a Memorial Day weekend. Air conditioner is crooked, I’m annoyed.

I’m in shorts and sandals, and I feel something… fuzzy… brush past my ankles. I look down, there’s nothing there.

I go back to contemplating the crookedness of my air conditioner. About the time I’m realizing my air conditioner is level but my cheapskate apartment’s window is crooked, I feel that… fuzzyness… across my ankles again.

I look down and this time there is this T I N Y grey-stripey kitten staring up at me. Looking at me like “you’re my human now, kay?” So of course I scooped him up, and he immediately set to purring.

That was it. I had a cat now. He lived to be like 13 and grew up to be fucking enormous. Never overweight, just goddamn huge. Used to sleep on my feet every night… like a rock.

I love this artist. I’d never seen her work before Lemmy, and now I’ve got a few of her books on my wishlist.

Totally true lmao. Its how I got my cat Chevy. He was found as a kitten by my Uncle on the tire of my Grandfathers Chevy. Years later the same Uncle found another kitten on the axle of his car, he named it Axle. He also named Chevy. He is definitely creative with naming cats.

    Relatable!

I got a kitten. Within a month after I bought it, we lost it. We looked everywhere. It couldn’t be outside, because we had been careful to not let it out yet, but we couldn’t find it anywhere.

We decided to go to bed and continue the search the next day.

That’s when we heard it miaow. I couldn’t locate it exactly, it almost seemed to be coming from behind the exterior wall. It wasn’t. It was coming from inside the exterior wall.

It had managed to climb up to the attic and with it’s stupid face managed to fall in between the cavity wall. We had to cut a hole in the wall to get it out.

The next month it managed to get hit by a car. It spend another month and tons of money healing and died anyways.

I’m never getting a cat again.
