Basically, you can be fired for any reason aside from membership in a protected class. But if you are terminated without cause, you can collect unemployment, which the further employer is required to pay.
Yeah, but it can’t be in direct retalliation, it must be based on work performance. Normally the former is hard to prove, but sometimes it’s obvious.
That’s simply not accurate in 49 out of 50 states.
