Dutch chocolate maker Tony’s Chocolonely has long been at the forefront of pushing for more sustainability in cocoa production.
The hope now is that the EUDR, which aims to get rid of deforestation in the supply chains of imported commodities, will also help provide better technical and economic support to the farmers who supply much of the world’s cocoa.

That’s certainly admirable and I support those efforts, but maybe Tony and other chocolate makers should be more concerned about getting the lead and other heavy metal contamination of their chocolate under control.
And I have certainly been sustaining a fairly constant supply of it into my mouth
The same actors running this EUDR hypocrisy have flooded the EU markets with biodiesel produced by massive tropical rainforest destruction, but they will be strict on cocoa.
The EU is turning into a more destructive and rogue dictatorship than the US, with several fascist governments and representatives in EU parliament, no wonder Trump is so jealous.
