I want to say yes. Although the websites I find consistently say that “bunny” refers to the rabbit (rabbit ≠ hare for the uninitiated, they are different species), they do have similar behaviors and looks. And this is not strictly a pet rabbit community, so the fact that hares are very hard to domesticate doesn’t really impact what gets posted here.
However, I also think the input of people in the community is important. If people who browse and/or post on [email protected] don’t want hare content included then I’m not going to make the change and allow hare content.
all lagomorphs are beautiful
actually a really good name for a community

Ya, say no to a baby hare… :)
Don’t see a problem with that
You know how dogs are just overgrown puppies, and nobody in a puppy community would be upset at seeing a dog? Same goes for bunnies and hares.
Well, a bunny doesn’t become a hare when it grows.
Oh my bad, I thought baby hares were called bunnies too!
Me too. “Bunny” is informal anyways. The way I always thought it was used, and the way I honestly continue to use it, is that if it’s that big-eared critter that looks like 🐰🐇 and is good at jumping, it can be called “bunny” and people will know what you mean. But since everything I found online says “bunny” is the informal word for rabbits, I figure I ought to ask to make sure people would be okay with hares which probably technically do not count as bunnies.
I would love to see hares here!
