Thank goodness, no CEOs were harmed in this act of murder so they aren’t sure if it is terrorism.

School shootings are terrorism. Driving cars into crowded places to scare people from even going to outdoor events is terrorism. Enabling a society so broken and awful it’s a common occurrence is enabling terrorism.

Perhaps all crime is terror and is a worthless label to exploit the “less worthy criminals”

Maybe all “real crimes” are terror… But most “crimes” under the injustice system are not even crimes.

You mean another way to exploit “less worthy humans”? I’m gonna need to talk to my imaginary friend in the sky about this.

You hate to see this kind of senseless undirected violence when there’s so many easily researched shitheads out there who it could have been directed at, instead.

Let’s all work towards a safer more peaceful world.

And until we achieve that better world, let’s remind each other that no one without body guards and a private yacht is causing the big ugly problems.

Personally don’t think this is a fuck cars issue. If someone wants to kill, they’ll find a way to do it no matter the medium

Yeah but besides cars and guns let’s say, other methods of killing probably require more time and technique making them easier to stop. A truck can be a one button people flattener available to pretty much the entire population (USA)?

Draino and aluminum foil can make an explosive that sprays hot acid. A styrofoam cup, a paper clip, and an outlet can start an untraceable fire. High proof liquor, a bottle, and a rag can make a molotov. Guns. Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen Sulfide, a mixture of ammonia and bleach, magnesium and oxygen.

There’s plenty of ways to mass murder without a car

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT CONDONE ANY OF THESE METHODS. MURDER IS TAKING A PERSON’S LIFE AND SENDING A CRIPPLING SHOCKWAVE TO INNOCENT PEOPLE THAT DON’T DESERVE YOUR RAGE

Other than guns the rest of these are going to be very difficult to kill more than a handful with. And they require a higher level of chemistry knowledge than most people have.

US street design and the fact that vehicles have easy access to crowded spaces make this type of attack much easier and more likely.

What level of chemistry? How I explained it is exactly what’s needed. Stop overthinking the obvious. And what i explained is cheaper than a car. Like i don’t want to be disrespectful, but did you start to argue without thinking your argument all the way through? And I don’t know if you know or not, but the combination of ammonia and bleach makes this little known biological agent called mustard gas

A higher level than you have lol. Mixing bleach and ammonia creates Chloramine and chlorine gas which are toxic when inhaled but not mustard gas which causes chemical burns on contact and is generally far more dangerous.

This reaction is fairly easy to trigger on a basic level but producing enough quantity to use in a terrorist attack is not trivial. You will also need the skills and equipment needed to do so safely, as well as methods to store and deliver the gas to your victims. All in all this requires way more chemistry and engineering than your average person will be capable of without extensive study and planning. Yes, the necessary information and materials are likely available, but this is far from easy.

Compare with a vehicle-based attack. Vehicles are widely accessible to almost anyone—most people already own one and if not almost anyone can rent one. All you do is point the vehicle at the targets and press the accelerator. In fact it’s so easy that there’s tons of vehicle-based violence that doesn’t even make the news because it is just “normal” for people to be killed this way.

On the other hand I can’t think of a single chemical attack that was committed by non-state actors. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has happened at some point but it is very rare.

We live in a “society” where we’re regularly inches from death. Cars are death. These kinds of terror attacks are quite easy and common. It’s definitely a fuck cars issue.

Much like with guns, the availability of weapons makes it easy. A car free city is a city that’s not full of car-based weapons.

Death toll rises to 15 with about 30 people injured

Also, way to go to this working four year-old with her own apartment:

The victims included the mother of a 4-year-old who had just moved into a new apartment after getting a promotion at work

This is the kind of thing that was the big difference from what happened in new york. Already in this thread there is some its fine for the violence and before new york people did not like this, like me. No matter what the cause this indiscriminate bullshit is not ok, but tageted. How is targeted that stop the perpetrator worse than law enforcement or wars? Unless ceos and board of directors bought up the place and did not bring any friends or family, this is not cool.
