Paris Hilton is actually deeply invested in fighting the troubled teen industry (aka fuckwads like https://elan.school/ (TW child abuse and lots of other shit)).

It’s important not to reduce people into caricatures of their public selves.

I just spent my whole day off reading this. I feel ill. I have heard about this “school” before, but I never knew the full extent of it.

It’s a really heavy read. If you’re not in a good place mentally, I’d really advise against it.

This story isn’t unique and a lot of programs for people in a rough place were designed around this kind of tough love - they started out mostly as cult like organizations for adults who had repeated difficulty stopping self-destructive behavior (Synanon was a notable example) and then at some point some asshole figured out they would try it on kids. If you ever have kids never trust programs like this

But yea, if you’re getting ill reading it it’s probably not healthy to continue and that’s alright.

I know a decent amount of wealthy people, none of them are who the media wants us to think they are. They are more understanding and do more than people think. A lot of them give a lot of money to great causes and want no credit. Doesn’t go for everyone obviously but it has been my experience.

      I appreciate your contrast.
