If you try to use them, you get a huge popup saying you need to upgrade. They’ve been removing features from the lower tiers and demand you upgrade to keep using it.
Can you elaborate on what software or solution would allow someone to host an encrypted email server? Would outgoing messages be encrypted or just encrypted at rest? What about if you also had your family member on the same setup and you wrote to each other, would it be encrypted?
Makes me feel a lot less confident about having a protonmail account. Best alternatives for privacy?

I use posteo myself. Its alright and reliable. Would try Riseup (kinda got political) but idk anyone to ask for an invite code
