Summary
Elon Musk escalated controversy over accusations that his salute at a Trump rally resembled a “Sieg heil” by posting Nazi-related jokes on X, referencing figures like Rudolf Hess and Joseph Goebbels.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) initially defended Musk, urging “a bit of grace” and “benefit of the doubt,” but later condemned his Holocaust-related jokes as offensive.
Conservative Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also defended Musk.
Critics highlighted Musk’s history of promoting far-right conspiracy theories and enabling neo-Nazi content on X, raising concerns about increasing offensive rhetoric on the platform.
So the group that kept saying if you say “free palestanian” or “israel is bad” you are a nazi and antisemitic, suddenly had no issue with nazi marks by Musk?
if elon musk doesn’t get sued for hate crime, while student protesting genocide do, then you know who is your enemies,
This is flirting a bit too close to the antisemitic dog whistle.
legitimate question:
how does criticizing the actions of the government of Israel constitute antisemitism?
I didn’t say it did.
You didn’t say anything; that’s the problem here.
I did, but regardless, at least I didn’t say the Nazi’s are right.
Which antisemitic dog whistle and in what way?
“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.” A neo-nazi saying that is falsely attributed to Voltaire to try and legitimize it.
I mean it is true, though… Well not completely but a good 80% of the way there. The reason the establishment will go after you for criticizing Israel (if they can, anyway) is because they’re getting Israeli lobby and MIC money. I’m not sure what the dog whistle here is supposed to be. The “Jews control the world” thing? Obviously that’s not true but Israel does exert a lot of control over US politics.
“Those Nazi’s are 80% right.” Lol.
I mean yeah why not? Having wrong beliefs, even really wrong beliefs, doesn’t prevent one from making a good point.
Good luck with that.
