I noticed that in modern Heathcliff the orange cat is often irrelevant to the joke. And by joke I mean absurdism or anti-joke because there is seldom a traditional joke happening in these. So I started removing him to see if the joke still works. A little after that I found out that there is a whole community of people out there editing Heathcliff comics in different ways. Kaiju, orbs, helmets, tinycliff, Heathcliff but frog, swapping the art with New Yorker text and the New Yorker image with Heathcliff text and the list goes on.

Heathcliff exists in a universe with its own lore like the motivational slug, garbage ape, unloved frog and more like walls made of ham, and ham cars.

I started posting my edits to one lemmy group and after almost a year I was told I would get banned if I continued. So I created this group. Seeing the edit first gives you a different view than if you see the original first. So that’s what I post and then comment with the original plus any other edits that pop up from others.

Thanks for making them. I love every one and it’s funny to realize how unnecessary he is in the comics because they don’t make sense anyway.

that’s great, I didn’t know about any of the other heathcliff edits.

That’s a good point about seeing the edit first allowing you to view the content from outside of the box.

thanks for answering, I appreciate it, and I look forward to not seeing heathcliff some more.

      have a good one.
