I mean its not korea and I really doubt pop is the most popular genre in the local area.

what does it matter whether it’s not korea. what matters is, if it’s good. there is lot of good kpop and ppl around the world enjoy it. isn’t the idea of broadcast to hear new or exotic things? otherwise, you could just listen to your own music collection over and over.

well the main thing is its a local broadcast. They don’t have a segment where they showcase a singer. It just came out of no where. So its not regional and its not from some hot genre for the area. What you said might make sense if it was a national broadcast maybe but again you would think it would be part of an ongoing segment.

again its not like they have a segment doing songs from various cultures. at a guess its easy to pay them to showcase something because local is going to be much cheaper than national and we are a large enough metro you will get neo national exposure.

    “It’s not Korea”

Not relevant. Are we not supposed to enjoy international media? It’d be a pretty boring world without any cultural exchange.

Dang I really hope culture stays on its side of the fence. Wouldn’t want to expose anyone to new concepts or something that wasn’t home grown.
