Tried Alaska a few years back. Then Alberta… Both no luck… Finally today in Tromsø… waited 5 hours and all meh sightings… Then suddenly in a matter of minutes… Full LSD rave sky party!

I was in Finland a couple weeks ago, and see them but they weren’t bright at all. You could barely see them with a camera. And then a couple of days later, our taxi driver told us that the night before was the brightest most colorful auroras he had seen :( and it was possible for us to see them from our hotel but we didn’t know about them.

I it’s a lot of luck and patience. We were ready to leave… seen some at the distanced.kinds strong but far away… them this magic happened right out of nothing and intensified in less than 2 mo utes.it was insane how fast it picked up

So happy for you! I was in Alaska and Iceland, unfortunately no northern lights to be seen. Feels like luck of the draw. I’ll be so ecstatic when it finally happens!

It’s a waiting game … It was very beloe average according to our guide… we just wanted and waited… and then. Boom! Magic show for 5 minutes…then back to meh.

Gratz!! I am planning to this with my son this year. I had it all planned out a few years ago and then COVID hit. I’m also primarily Norwegian and want to see the homeland.

Nice. Went hiking yesterday and didn’t see anything. But this was maybe later at night?

This was around midnight? Maybe 11:30 pm? It was so dynamic… this happened in a matter of 2 minutes…then lasted for 5 and disappeared…

Ah. We were at the parking about 22:50 :) I’m glad you got to enjoy the aurora.
