Kinda sucks for the truckers, but it seems like the solution is that in order to cover their asses, they should just have a no use policy. I’ve heard that there was a company that refused to hire cigarette smokers for insurance costs. If they can get away with that kind of shit. I don’t see why the trucking companies wouldn’t adopt a similar policy.
And the difficulty of that last mile of driving and maneuvering in the lot to the dock means we will have drivers for a lot longer than some expect. No AI is going to get that my dock plate doesn’t like to swing up properly when the plate is below 30F right now but every driver here gets it.

As long as we don’t have self driving trucks, you need people for the job
