what would another system look like and how would we get there
I think the most compelling pathway through capitalism I’ve seen is market socialism. You still have private businesses, they still operate in the economy the same way, but every employee is a shareholder, and every shareholder is an employee. Personally, I think a minimum wage is redundant if every employee holds stake in the company and directly receives a percentage of the profits.
You don’t have to overhaul the economy, don’t need to create a gigantic bureaucratic command economy apparatus, but the workers own the means of production.
