(this references a running gag from Max Miller’s “Tasting History”, in which he noisily clicks together two pieces of hard tack every time hard tack comes up, which is pretty often on a channel about historical food)He encouraged me to make my own hardtack, for reenactment. I still have all but 1 piece of it, and suspect that that will be the case for eternity.
Maybe you have to eat it during the next pandemic!
Sounds like dwarf bread. If you have a piece of dwarf bread you will never go hungry (because you will do anything to find sth. else to eat).
