Back at my old data center job, there were racks of legacy fiber. We all just kind of ignored it knowing it basically interconnected everything, even though it was a hot mess.

Jesus christ that was hard to find. I had to click the permalink of your comment, THEN the hamburger menu. Couldn’t do it from your user profile or from the comment in ‘post’ view. Got it done, though!

Yup. Exactly why I bitched to the Fidel Castro admin. But he’s more sensitive than Spez and banned my first account from the main Lemmy ML instance. Everyone over there was just defending him too and dogpiling on me because I had the nerve to say the mod tools are utter shit and they should be ashamed for releasing software in this state. FOSS or not, it’s embarrassing.

Some people don’t like to hear the truth. From what I can tell, this is a two-guy project… hopefully more will join in on the effort and improve the codebase. Something tells me despite having communist leanings, they won’t want to share. I foresee a fork in the future.

You do realize that most open source software is “released” from pretty much the first moment of its existence and the “not ready yet” part is indicated by a version number?
