I can feel the efficiency flowing down from the mountaintops. So efficient.

Authoritarian regimes are very efficient. No need to worry about who you hurt, be slowed down by rules, laws, science, expertise, conflicts of interest…it all just goes away. You either have power or you don’t. It’s ruthlessly efficient.

It’ll be fun watching many of the small, midsize and even large corps learn what their lower-taxes-at-all-costs fealty has won them. They, arrogantly, of course all assume they’re part of the “in group” that will never feel the pain from the changes. Legal recourse when you get fucked? Oh that’s gone, sorry legal rights were to inefficient. FTC? Sorry, that was evil, remember?

Elon Musk’s government-slashing crew, the “department of government efficiency”, has been given access to the federal payment system, exposing the sensitive personal data of millions of Americans as well as details of public contractors who compete directly with Musk’s own businesses, an influential US senator has confirmed.

That’s going to be a weird chapter in the future history books. It’s the day USA became a dogecracy. Or it’s going to be seen as a coup.

ROFL America is so cooked, this is one of the many things that I feared would happen. That national security would be compromised by inept, rich fucks. If the USA government regains sanity, they’ll have a lot of work to do in order to recover.
