    Also, it’s easier to maintain a steady jog pace rather than running all over the place like in soccer.

    (They studied soccer players and found they don’t actually cover much distance. But it’s exhausting.)

      11km in 90 minutes, if anyone’s interested. I wouldn’t call that “not much distance”

        A lot of sprinting in those 7 miles too. Aint that many “long distance sprinters” for a reason.

          I’m a long distance sprinter.

          I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone, I’m a glutton for punishment.

          Also: I get lapped by people who keep a consistent pace because while I’ve got explosive power, it also involves recovery from the anaerobic sprint. My legs are tree trunks also, another downside.

          So overall, as evolution proves, steady wins the race.
