Summary
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Panama’s President José Raúl Mulino to discuss Trump’s demand for the U.S. to reclaim control of the Panama Canal, citing China’s growing influence as a security risk.
Mulino rejected any negotiations but proposed talks on Chinese involvement and migration. Rubio warned of U.S. action if changes aren’t made.
Protests erupted in Panama City against U.S. interference.
Despite tensions, Rubio downplayed military intervention, calling the canal a “core national interest” as he continues a broader Central America tour.
Sometimes it just takes us a bit.
Gotta love you throwing shade at people “going on social media doing nothing” while you sit, on social media, doing nothing lmao.
Was he saying that he was gonna do something? No? Then, what’s the similarity between him and Americans who talks about the rise of fascism on social media but barely does anything to stop them?
All Pearl Harbour showed was that the US only care about things if they themselves are affected, yet right now they aren’t even doing anything when as a nation they are already affected by fascism. Not a good sign that they will ever do anything drastic anytime soon. I would be glad to be proven wrong, though.
