Germany's Bundeswehr is investigating potental espionage after unidentified drones were spotted flying over a sensitive German military base six times in January where Ukrainians have been training, Der Spiegel reported on Feb. 9.
How in the world is is not standard, at this point, to have a little sensor network that pops up an icon on a screen to show any drone above the size of a housefly that’s within a few miles of your sensitive installation.
I have to assume, simply from the fact that no one’s kamikazed a dildo drone into Elon Musk while he’s making a speech or something, that the US has something like this and just isn’t talking about it. Compared to some of the insane stuff that gets done in military/intelligence work it would be super easy, and absolutely crucial.
I have no idea how well this stuff works. For all I know, the article is written because they saw it on this system, and decided it wasn’t worth trying to keep it a secret. But IDK how you got to the idea that drone detection systems are so obviously nuts, that only a stupid person might think they’re realistic.

i do’t know what sensors that might be, but i’d guess that birds and bumblebees (bigger than a housefly) could pop up a lot of icons on your screen.
This is like a dunning-kruger effect comment
