One person was killed and others were injured when a private jet owned by Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil collided with another jet Monday afternoon at the Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, authorities said.

    Whenever there’s a big accident, a lot of reporting shows up around small accidents.

    Is this an actual increase in airplane crashes, or are we just looking for them right now?

    This one is a landing gear failure, I can see that it’s technically possible that FAA problems put the two planes close enough that a crash was more likely, but my gut says this is just an average accident for a smaller aircraft. I would like more data to recalibrate my gut.

      Minor accidents are common, especially technical malfunctions even when they don’t pose any safety risk. All are investigated. This month is definitely looking to be one of the deadlier in the US modern history.
