Faced with relentless Republican attacks on reproductive freedom including efforts to give embryos and fetuses legal rights from the moment of conception, Democratic lawmakers in two states have recently introduced legislation that would ban men from ejaculating for purposes other than making babies, with some exceptions.

I believe the bill they introduced isn’t going to go anywhere, and I believe the people introducing the bill believe that also.

Talk about should/could all you want, what will happen is that these bills are laughed at and thrown away with no additional thought from the intended targets.

Anyways I don’t really care to argue about obvious performative politics and optics and PR moves.

I am against the currently passed bills restricting women’s right to choose. There is nothing I can do about it.

      'I believe, i believe, ibelieve"

That’s fine, but vision boards are for directing your focus, your beliefs aren’t going to change anything by themselves.

      That’s what action is for.

in this case, gender equality legislation.

“obvious performative politics and optics and PR moves.”

removing reproductive Rights, healthcare and bodily autonomy from an entire gender is not a stunt, it happened and is continuing to happen.

in the US, women do not have bodily autonomy and are denied basic healthcare.

women are literally dying because of conservative legislation that you are either unaware of or don’t “believe” in.

men should be denied the same privileges.

Friend, I think we agree mostly. I’m not in a mindspace to argue with you on the places where we disagree. Thank you for your passion and your time in presenting your positions, and also consider asking people for clarification on their positions when it would appear that some is needed, as I believe we may have been talking over each other instead of properly communicating.

          I don’t think so.

You’re arguing about performance politics, well, I’m addressing direct practically effects of real-life legislation.

we’re close, but as long as you think that the civil rights that have been taken away from American women are some kind of PR stunt, The legislation that has been killing women, we are not on the same page.
