The culling of “probationary” employees will be more impactful. As it has done at other federal agencies, the Trump administration is generally firing federal employees who are in the “probationary” period of their employment, which includes new hires within the last one or two years or long-time employees who have moved into or been promoted into a new position. About 1,000 or slightly more employees at NASA were impacted by these cuts.

Wait, “or people who have been promoted”? That seems rather… counter-productive.

They don’t care about productivity at all.

They’re firing anyone they can legally get away with firing easily, not just at NASA, at every Federal agency.

The goal is not a managed downsizing.

The goal is fucking break everything.

      It is intentional sabotage.

Everything they call ‘fraud’ is just some kind of spending they don’t agree with, don’t understand what it even is, or both, with the added ‘I don’t actually know how to read a budget or database’ on top.

You might as well put Joe Rogan in charge of these employee cullings and ‘fraud’ hunts, he’s just as qualified as anyone in this administration to be making these decisions.

Oh I don’t doubt it’s all a show, but that just seems like a particularly egregious example. Still, you’re right to spell it out.

Looks like they halted the firings for NASA, at least for now?
