“There doesn’t seem to be anything here”
Reddit search pulls in the most arbitrary posts when given a single keyword, even deleted comments remain indexed to the post. But they somehow have nothing about lemmy. That seems suspect, considering search isn’t otherwise broken.
Edit: getting results for lemmy now? Did I happen to search within the 10 second window where search was broken? That feels unlikely
If only taking the fash boot leather out of their mouth had ever been an option
Search on old reddit has always sucked.
Reddit search hasn’t worked for the past 15+ years, don’t think this is anything new
yeah it doesnt work correctly, i tried to look at posts of my old accounts and it would only find ones that posted recently and not the ones posted yourself(your own post wont show but your comments on other subs will.
I already feel dirty for doing so, but I’m gonna be devils advocate here. Reddits search bar is probably without any function and has been put on top of the page because it is expected in site design 101. I have never seen anything more useless than that piece of shit on any website I have been on.
The saddest part? The clowns calling themselves admins can use this as an excuse and nobody will doubt them.
Came here to say your last sentence lol. They could do it on purpose, and no one be any the wiser because it’s such a shit search tool.
Very suspect indeed, I was able to search for posts mentioning Lemmy a few weeks ago for [email protected]
I was trying to replicate a post on this community (this will bump you to my instance, I apologize. I don’t think there’s a way to link posts that doesn’t require one to use the instance of the poster but if there is, I’d love to learn it) when I found this. Unfortunately, after replicating it twice and verifying that other search terms were fully functional, it offers results again. I edited my post to reflect that. Still an incredibly odd bug for a single search term for only an incredibly brief window.
The next Lemmy version will automatically rewrite links to the local domain.
That’s incredible news!!

It’s one of the things we’re all waiting for.
